Description
Hi everyone,This is my first post to GFX Artist, thanks for having me! This image went through a few programs on its way to being finished - Maya for the trees, zBrush for the pods, Bryce for a water/reflection render, tons of Photoshop painting and texturing, plus the use of a few royalty free stock photos (the monk and boat are seperate shots, composited and heavily painted). All told I think it was about a week's work. Thanks for taking the time to look, all the best,
Phil

nice idea...i like the shapes but i think its a bit too bright...u should make more deeper shadows to it
i like the sky as well.another thing is the border between the sea and mountains in the bottom right part...its a bit too sudden for my taste..also i can see some blue colour...i dont understand from where thats supposed to come..eh...dont blame a girl from not being able to see in depth
i hope this helps a bit, it has potential

or more simply you could consider putting a light source in the front(as in for example where im standing and looking at it right now
anywayz, you woll preserve details...real nice ones btw

i really love the tree, water, boat... tuned the sky a bit to discreet, give them more deep... that ´s what i think

But otherwise very intresting model and great atmosphere.

The only thing that looks off is the base of the tree-island. It is a straight line across when I would think it would be a bit rounded, for perspective.
You did well with using many tools for one piece. Keep it up.

As usual your sense of scale and depth is employed with wonderful skill. My only comment is that the sky is a bit too busy considering the tree-like growth in the foreground. The sky is competing with the tree and makes it a bit difficult to really focus on it - and the tree ultimately is the subject of the piece.
Overall, however, you've done an excellent job!
